BOTOX® Cosmetic was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002 for the cosmetic reduction of forehead lines and has successfully been used to treat a surprising range of additional conditions, such as gummy smiles, TMJ disorder, and many others.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified version of Botulinum Toxin Type A. It has been proven to reduce the effects of facial aging, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and other complexion issues. When injected into the skin, BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily paralyzes the facial muscles that contribute to wrinkles.
BOTOX® injections work by relaxing the contractions of the muscles that cause many common types of facial wrinkles; however, BOTOX® Cosmetic does not treat the type of wrinkle formed by loss of volume beneath the skin. Those wrinkles are often better treated with dermal fillers.
” Amazing people and great service, nice and clean environment, always make sure your comfortable during the procedure. Definitely recommend. “
With BOTOX® injections, you can enjoy a refreshed, rejuvenated facial appearance. The results of BOTOX® Cosmetic typically last 3-4 months. Once the results begin to fade, injections can be administered to maintain the anti-aging effect.
The most common side effects from BOTOX® injections are redness, bruising, and swelling in the treatment sites. These effects are typically very mild and should dissipate quickly. In fact, they can often be well-covered with makeup until they fade. BOTOX® injections do not usually require a recovery period following treatment, and most patients are able to resume work and other daily routines immediately.
Dr. Nazli will explain the potential risks and side effects of this treatment beforehand so you will know what to expect before the procedure is performed.
